Being labelled a sexually violent predator would make him subject to mandatory lifetime counselling and community notification of his whereabouts.
His name will appear on a sex-offender registry sent to neighbours, schools and victims. On the first day of the sentencing, the comic laughed at times as the psychologist on the stand for the state portrayed him as a sexual predator with signs of a mental disorder.
After much debate yesterday, both the defense and prosecution came to an agreement that Cosby would only face a maximum of ten years by merging all three felony counts into one for the sake of a swift sentencing.
Cosby was also denied bail by the judge, meaning he would head immediately to prison after leaving the court house. Cosby's team also argued that the sexually violent predator status was unconstitutional, but Judge O'Neill ruled against that argument on Monday.
Known to millions as America's Dad, Cosby was convicted in April of drugging and molesting Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia home 14 years ago.
The AP does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they come forward publicly, which Toronto-based Constand and other women have done.
"To truly understand the impact that the sexual assault has had on my life, you have to understand the person that I was before it happened", it begins.
In a written statement to O'Neill, which was released Tuesday, Constand wrote, "Bill Cosby took my handsome, healthy young spirit and crushed it".
"Instead of looking back, I am looking forward to looking forward".

Five of his other accusers testified against him during his trial. Cosby's first trial in 2017 ended in a mistrial when jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict.
Despite Cosby's stumble as seen above, the comedian didn't appear as dejected earlier.
Constand testified that Cosby gave her what she thought were herbal pills to ease stress, then penetrated her with his fingers as she lay immobilized on a couch.
