Torreira will fly direct to London from Moscow after Uruguay were knocked out of the World Cup on Friday.
Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira confirmed he was close to completing a move to Arsenal as he prepares for a medical at the Premier League club.
"Arsenal offered to do the medical examinations in Russian Federation but we decided against it because we felt it's inconvenient, it is not the right time", Torrira's father said to Fox Sports Argentina.
"It is all done in a draft and only missing the arrival of Lucas to England", he added. With one year left on his current contract, Lorient felt it was the right time to sell, and multiple clubs have been in talks with the player since January, according to RMC. "We are satisfied with what they offered us, but let's wait a little longer until the World Cup ends".
The Uruguay global midfielder has been linked with the Gunners for some time and a deal appears close.
Arsenal has already agreed a £26.4million deal with Sampdoria who are ready to let go of the defensive midfielder this summer because the gunners have met their asking price.
As Arsenal's fourth summer signing, Torreira follows veteran Stephan Lichtsteiner, from Juventus on a free transfer, the former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, a central defender bought from Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal's non-World Cup stars returned for pre-season training earlier this week ahead of their opening pre-season friendly at Boreham Wood on July 14.
