Lesnar then stepped into the Octagon and had to be restrained from attacking Cormier.
After Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic to claim the heavyweight crown in the UFC 226 headliner at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, "DC" took to the microphone to call out Lesnar. Cormier was victorious in the fight and became the new heavyweight champion in the first round of the fight. The first was Conor McGregor, who accomplished the feat in late 2016.
Lesnar wasted no time hitting back: "Let me tell you something, I walk into this building and watch the heavyweight disasters from the beginning". He's another wrestler, another All-American.
Former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis also submitted Michael Chiesa in the second round with a triangle armbar from a bottom position. I'm not going to fight him if he's not clean. DC, I'm coming for you motherf--er. We'll do USADA testing, and we'll do other testing. He tested positive for the anti-estrogenic agent hydroxy-clomiphene in an out-of-competition U.S. Anti-Doping Agency drug test before the fight and in an in-competition test the day of the bout.
Prior to the fight, Joe Rogan heard Lesnar tell Dana White that he wanted the victor of the fight.
Cormier's move up to challenge Miocic was only the third superfight in UFC history between reigning champions of two weight classes. He is now the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, becoming just the second fighter in the promotion's history to hold two belts simultaneously.
Cleveland's champ, Stipe Miocic, will try to bring home another title to Northeast Ohio.
Miocic is the favorite to win tonight's fight.
In the Co-Main Event at UFC 226 Heavyweight Derrick Lewis continued his progression up the Heavyweight ranks with a decision victory over Francis NGannou.
But, given the state of its heavyweight division, the same can not be said for the UFC.
