A man and a 7 year old boy have been critically injured following a light plane crash near Edenderry this Sunday afternoon, May 13. It's understood the crash site is located away from the road.
They were taken to Tullamore Regional Hospital where post mortem examinations will be carried out later today.
Members of the Civil Defence, Offaly Fire Services and Garda were first to attend the scene, along with local residents.
It was carrying 16 parachutists, who all made their jumps safely.

The pilot, believed to be from the United Kingdom, and a seven-year-old local boy were on board when the plane went down in bog land. "A rescue/recovery operation is under way".
He said: "People would be over there all the time, especially at weekends in the summer, a lot of people parachuting and a lot of fundraising jumpers".
All sixteen had made their jump, when the plane crashed shortly afterwards with two people still on board - the pilot and a seven-year-old boy.
Their deaths have now been confirmed.
