William and Kate duly listed their jobs as Prince and Princess of the United Kingdom.
The little boy's name was documented as His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge, which we expected, but it's his parents' listed occupations that really got us chuckling.
Well some eagled-eyed royalists have gone back to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding day back in 2011 and pointed out how Kate pronounces her husband's middle name during their vows.
The news was announced Friday morning in a press release from Kensington Palace which read: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles".
Despite the 18/1 odds, Ms Gordon won $8000 after she placed a £250 bet ($456) on the moniker, which she chose for her grandson who was born the day after the new prince and named Louis.
News of the birth of the couple's third child was revealed on Twitter on Monday afternoon, in a statement from Kensington Palace. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. As in the past, the Duchess had a quick labour and Prince Louis was born at 11.01 at 8lbs 7oz.
"Along with many people around the globe, New Zealanders have witnessed and celebrated the joy that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have clearly found with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte", Ardern said. "I was so chuffed to see the baby's name.' And the links extend to Louis" sculptor dad Chris, 57, who created a pedestal for a bronze bust of the Queen which sits in Westminster Palace.
There are also reports saying that Princess Charlotte is adapting to Prince Louis better than older brother Prince George, but for a very logical reason.
The birth means that the Duke of York is now seventh in line to the throne (he was second at the time of his birth) and could marry without the Queen's permission.
Louis is known to be a favourite name of the Cambridge family.
Prince Charles is "so pleased" to have become a grandfather for the third time after his son Prince William welcomed a son into the world this week.
