The People's Protection Units (YPG) is the US-armed Kurdish group defending Afrin against continued Turkish attacks and fighting IS in Syria while the Democratic Union Party (PYD) is the ruling party in Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava).
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the fighting is concentrated in the village of Bilbleh, adding that Turkish warplanes are conducting airstrikes in the region.
The terrorists attacked an outpost in southern Kilis province with anti-tank missiles on Saturday, killing one soldier and injuring five others, with two in critical condition.
A total of 899 PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and Daesh terrorists have been "neutralized" since the beginning of Operation Olive Branch in Syria's Afrin region on January 20, according to the Turkish General Staff on Saturday.
The seventh one was killed in a YPG attack on the border, without giving further details.
Turkish presidential spokesman said Turkey will not tolerate the presence of a Syrian Kurdish militia "anywhere" along its southern border, hinting that Ankara might expand its military operation underway in the Syrian enclave of Afrin eastward.
On Jan. 20, Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch along with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) to clear PYD/PKK and Daesh terrorists from Afrin, northwestern Syria.
The Turkish forces also gained control of Mount Barsia. The authenticity of the video could not be independently confirmed but it corresponds to events reported by the AP.
Seven Turkish soldiers were martyred on Saturday during Operation Olive Branch, according to a Turkish General Staff statement. "We have given the necessary response instantly, and we continue to do so", Yildirim said.
