A wind chill warning remains in effect until noon today and a wind chill advisory remains in effect from 7 p.m. tonight to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Cold temperatures and bitter wind chills will continue across the area today and tomorrow. Note the Warnings/Advisories extend in all directions out of Chicago into western IL and Iowa to the west, Wisconsin and Lower Michigan to the north, in into OH to our east and central and southern IL and in to our south (see map below). Early morning wind chill values will be extremely cold and could be as low as -15°F. Wind chills by daybreak Monday will be 3 to 8 above.
Wind chills values are in the single digits Monday afternoon. They could fall below 0 again Monday night
Very cold wind chills expected. Expect wind chills to range from 10 above zero to 10 below zero for portions of Middle Tennessee. In this risky cold, keep in mind to dress in layers. Continued cooling beneath a clear sky will bring temperatures down to single digits by sunrise Tuesday morning. Cover as much of your bare skin as possible to prevent frost bite. That next cold front will mean a fast end to the warming and a return of arctic air to North Alabama.
