LG is one of the companies that seem to be lining up a lot of products to be unveiled at the CES 2018. "This includes a massive 88" 8K OLED TV as well.
Whereas, the 4K UHD projector model HU80KA is a compact device that doesn't look like its peer devices. LG claims the new UHD projector is roughly half the size of competing 4K options on the market, many of which are "heavy, expensive, and hard to install" according to the company. While they are "heavy, expensive, and hard to install", according to the company, the HU80KA is the opposite of all these. LG describes the HU80KA as an "affordable yet premium device", so hopefully it is priced well below $5K. Created to project an image of 150-inches, it supports the HDR 10 standard for high dynamic range, with the company's brightest ever image of 2,500 lumens ... "Along with 4K resolution, it also supports HDR 10 content improving your cinematic experience". The portable size of the projector and its unique upright position has been made possible by its in-built mirrorless I-shaped engine that enables it to project correct images whether it is placed on the floor, wall mounted or hanged from the ceiling.
It even has a pair of built in speakers. Two 7-watt speakers deliver high-quality audio. Fear not as the HU80KA has a plethora of connectivity options ranging from optical, HDMI, and Bluetooth. The projector runs webOS 3.5 to allow access to all your favorite streaming services including Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube.
