A fire broke at Trump Tower in NY district's Manhattan area in United States on Monday, NBC News has reported.

The Fire Department of NY says the fire started around 7am Monday at the building that contains President Trump's home and business offices.

Fire officials could not immediately be reached for comment, but FDNY tweeted an alert at 8:16 a.m., saying the blaze inside an HVAC system is "under control".

More than 126 firefighters responded to the scene.

Aerial views showed firefighters on the roof, with smoke billowing from one corner of the high-rise.

Trump commissioned architect Der Scutt to create an imposing, dominating structure that the Trump Tower website describes as "a world-famous testament of Mr Trump's grand vision".

One person has been seriously injured at a fire at Trump Tower, the Manhattan residence of US President Donald Trump. A few remained on the roof about an hour later. NYFD flooded the street and rooftop, extinguishing the fire "within minutes" according to the president's son Eric Trump, who was working in the building.

The department says it was called around 7 a.m. Monday for a report of a fire on the top floor.

Trump was in Washington at the time. "The men and women of the #FDNY are true heros and deserve our most honest thanks and praise!"

Secret Service members were also responsible for spotting the fire on the Clinton property.
