The UN chief was referring to the recent stance of USA president Donald Trump on demanding that ally Saudi Arabia immediately allow vital humanitarian supplies to reach Yemen while not asking for an end to the airstrikes carried out by Saudi-led coalition against Yemeni people.
"Nearly 20 fighters were killed and some others wounded in the targeted site", the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
A Saudi-led coalition air strike hit Yemen's rebel-controlled state television station in Sanaa overnight, killing four guards, rebel media and the head guard said today.
Yemen's ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh, slain this week by his former rebel allies, was buried on Saturday at his home village outside Sanaa, a relative close to the family said.
The rebels have since consolidated their control over the capital.
Forces of the Saudi-backed Yemeni government retook the Red Sea town of Khokha from the rebels on Thursday after clashes that killed dozens, local officials and medical sources said.
He remained in politics as the head of the GPC, Yemen's largest political party, and in 2015 he joined forces with the Iran-aligned Houthis after they captured the capital Sanaa in a move that precipitated Saudi-led military intervention on the side of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. The war in Yemen has killed over 10,000 people, mostly civilians, and displaced 3 million others, according to United Nations agencies.
