The PlayStation 4 has reached the 70 million sold units milestone, whereas the PlayStation Virtual Reality has reached 2 million. The PlayStation Experience takes place this weekend and Sony is kicking things off with a live-streamed presentation called PlayStation Presents tonight at 11 PM ET - that's 8 PM in Anaheim, California, where the show is being held. Inspired by the incredible success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Sony is remaking the original Medievil to release on PS4 in 2018, as a way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series. The drop in sales of its gaming console could be the reason that Microsoft stopped manufacturing Xbox One.
Microsoft no longer breaks out sales numbers, but one estimate puts the total at around 30 million as of August. It sees players embody the young boy you play as in the main game and get an intimate meeting with Trico, the mythical creature that you grow a bond with during the course of the game. For the PSVR, Sony says there are over 130 "highly anticipated games and other entertainment content in development" for release next year. When the Xbox One X was launched people were insane about it, as the console broke all preorders record. Details were thin - we know it's a PS4 game, we know that it'll support 4K resolution on PS4 Pro, and we know that it's embodying the same sort of irreverent humor that made the original game a lot of fun.
