The standalone title will see players leveraging the portal technology from Portal's Aperture Laboratories to put a new spin on Bridge Constructor's main mechanic: building bridges to usher vehicles from point to point.
Bridge Constructor Portal is that very game, and it's coming to Android on December 20th this year. In its announcement, Headup Games said it has been working on the new game since a year ago, adding that it "fully embraces the Portal license, one of the most beloved video game franchises of the last decade".
Backing up a bit, if you've never played a Portal game before, I implore you to fix that problem.
It is also in the works for PlayStation 4, Switch and Xbox One. You solve puzzles via clever placement of these portals and jumping (or walking) through one to come out the other. Well, it's a physics puzzler much like the previous Bridge Constructors. The console versions are scheduled for a release in early 2018.
There's no gameplay footage, but the teaser confirms the return of GLaDOS voice actress Ellen McLain. Feast your eyes on these screenshots, JUST LOOK AT THEM! My absolute dream would be for Valve to acknowledge this game as canon in the Portal universe and slips in some additional tidbits on Aperture Science.
Bridge Constructor originally released on PC in 2012 before coming to mobile devices and consoles.
